Dr. Ellen Cosgrove

Dr. Ellen Cosgrove is the Albany Medical College Vice Dean for Academic Administration. She oversees all academic programs and business functions of the college. She most recently served as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine, where she also was Professor of Medicine, and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Washington School of Medicine. A primary care physician, Dr. Cosgrove completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. She obtained her medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. She was elected to Mastership in the American College of Physicians in 2018 and she is a Gold Humanism Honor Society Fellow.

Dr. Barbara Ostrov

Dr. Barbara Ostrov is the Director of the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital and the Martha Lepow, M.D., Endowed Chair in Pediatrics. Dr. Ostrov has more than 20 years of leadership experience and most recently, she served as Associate Dean of Faculty and Professional Development at Penn State College of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. As a rheumatologist, she has served the Arthritis Foundation, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Children’s Miracle Network, and the Four Diamonds, a philanthropy in support of pediatric cancer care and research.

Dr. Kelley Banagan

Dr. Kelley Banagan is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon at Albany Med’s Department of Surgery. She specializes in treating patients for a broad range of spine-related conditions that include degenerative disc disease, spinal deformity, spinal tumors, traumatic injury, scoliosis and spinal stenosis. She comes to Albany Med from the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she served as an assistant professor and the assistant residency director in the Department of Orthopedics. Dr. Banagan earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed her residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Her fellowship in orthopedic spine surgery was conducted at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. She performs surgery at Albany Med and serves as an associate professor of surgery at Albany Medical College.

Dr. Kathyrn Ko

Dr. Ko graduated from the University of Hawaii School of Medicine, completed Neurosurgery training at Mt Sinai in NYC and fellowship at the Univ. of Washington.  She earned a Masters of Fine Art in 2012 from Academy Art University and served as the first Artist in Residence for AMWA.  Dr Ko's practice and art studio are in New York City. A self taught ambidexter, Dr. Ko completed neurosurgery training at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City and earned a MFA from the Academy of Art University. During residency she also launched her complementary career in art by using the pulsed ruby laser to create medical holograms of the human brain in collaboration with Holographics, Inc. Ko regards art as a necessary continuation of her surgical practice. The operating theater is her studio; the treatment of the subject begins with the scalpel and ends with the brush.

Dr. Katherine Chretien

Katherine Chretien is Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Professor of Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She serves as a career advisor for over 280 medical students, oversees the school's Scholarly Concentration Program and Office for Financial Aid, and co-chairs the Wellness Committee. Her academic focus is on social media use in medicine, narrative medicine, student advising, and wellness. Her research and essays have been published in JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Academic Medicine, Medical Education, and Journal of General Internal Medicine. She has also worked as a columnist for USA TODAY and Disney.

Dr. Diana Anderson

Dr. Anderson is a healthcare architect, a board-certified internist and a geriatrician. As a “dochitect”, she combines educational and professional experience in both medicine and architecture. Dr. Anderson has worked on hospital design projects globally and is widely published in both architectural and medical journals, books and the popular press. She is a frequent speaker about the impacts of healthcare design on patient outcomes and care delivery. A Co-Founder of Clinicians for Design, this international network of leaders seeks to inspire and accelerate the design of environments and systems. A past Fellow of the Harvard Medical School Center for Bioethics, she explores the ethics of built space. As a Principal at Jacobs, Dr. Anderson provides thought leadership at the intersection of design and health. She is a current research fellow in geriatric neurology at the VA Boston Healthcare System.

Jeslyn Rodriguez

Jeslyn was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to Miami, FL at the age of seven. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Florida International University and is a current second-year medical student at AMC serving as the President of the USA, Vice President of LMSA, Vice President of MSPA, and Social Chair of SNMA. Although not certain about what she wants to specialize in yet, Jeslyn is interested in Emergency Medicine and Surgery. During her time at AMC, Jeslyn has helped develop and is currently executing the Allyship Initiative Series, which aims to increase the allyship training available at AMC for a more inclusive and supportive environment. In her free time, Jeslyn enjoys going to museums, working out, playing chess, and spending time with friends!

Symone Reid

Symone is a first-year medical student at Albany Medical College. She formerly went to the University at Albany and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (2015) and her Master of Science in Educational Psychology & Methodology (2018) before embarking on her journey into medicine. Symone has a strong passion for not only healthcare and education, and it is her goal to continue to incorporate both into her future career. Currently, Symone is involved in the SNMA Albany Chapter, LMSA Albany Chapter, and Building the Next Generation of Academic Physicians. She enjoys mentoring undergraduate underrepresented students interested in healthcare.
