A Message from the Director
The definition of the woman physician has changed drastically since 1849. She is no longer solely a physician. Today, she takes on multiple roles within the hospital- she is a mentor, a student, a role model, an advocate. She has endless possibilities to incorporate her other interests and passions into her medical career. She is an ally, a lobbyist, and a lawmaker. We at AMWA Region 2 recognize that our futures are much different than our predecessors. Today’s medical students need inspiration and guidance to recognize the endless potential that their future career holds. This year’s AMWA Region 2 Conference is dedicated to just that- we have lined up a panel of outstanding, accomplished physician speakers that have incorporated advocacy, art, architecture, and even writing into their careers, that exemplify that our boundaries are endless. In addition, we have interactive workshops, and opportunities to network with medical students throughout the New York and New Jersey Region. We look forward to having you!
